Lee Evie.

I am just finishing up watching the 2019 serious crime thriller kdrama starring Choi Jin-hyuk called JUSTICE, which I am planning to cover on my podcast show very soon.

I have also just started watching FLOWER CREW: JOSEON MARRIAGE AGENCY, a 2019 romcom set in historical Korea. I am just ADORING it so far, and finding it much much more romantic than I expected it to be!! (I thought it would be sillier but the romance is quite solid and slow-burn = totally my jam!)

Has anyone else started either of these shows?
What are you guys watching?

I am the first to admit that I read mostly Young Adult fiction (and I am a bit of a voracious reader! I love it!) but I am dipping my toe into some literary fiction at the moment. Which might have something to do with the fact that the book in question is Korean!

I am not sure that I totally love literary fiction, but I am absolutely LOVING this book a lot nonetheless. It is so moving and incredible.

and sad….

What are you reading at the moment? Anything good?

I am an author, and I love writing stories more than anything else in the world!

After discovering Korean dramas about 8 years ago, I became really fascinated by all the historical dramas in particular, and was really inspired to begin writing stories set in that same setting.

The idea to share those stories with the world was a little scary, but I wanted to be brave and embrace the things I want to do and not hold back …. hence my website and podcast and this little bookclub! πŸ™‚

I’m really excited to be here sharing my work and my passion, and I really hope that once my stories go out into the world, that people enjoy to read them!

But in the meantime, here is a random thing about me!

  • I’ve visited Korea once (and am dying to go back!) and all the photographs of Korea you see within this email and all over my website (and podcast graphics) are ones I took on that trip. I really enjoy photography.

At the moment, I am working on editing a novel called PROMISE SEASON.
It is a stand-alone dark and romantic tale about a gisaeng in ancient Korea who gets pulled into a dangerous conspiracy.
I really hope people like it!

The manuscript has come back from my editor, who has used her own Korean heritage and background to double check all the cultural references within my novel, and make sure the historical details are correct.

It is getting very close to being finished now, which is really exciting. Next, it will be about formatting and also cover design!

Soon enough, I think I will have a release date to share with you! πŸ™‚

I really hope you enjoyed this little bookclub email! I can’t wait to share more good news with you each month, and I really hope to catch you on my podcast or my blog! πŸ™‚

Happy reading and watching everybody!
Have a beautiful month.
Until next time, over and out:

Lee Evie.
